Itinerary

Day 1 Arusha – Tarangire National Park

Your extraordinary journey commences in Arusha, a vibrant city that serves as the gateway to Tanzania’s natural wonders. Get ready to embark on a 6-day safari that blends luxury with the wonders of the wild.

On the first day, you’ll set out for Tarangire National Park after a morning meet-up with your guide. Tarangire, a sprawling park covering an area comparable to Luxembourg, boasts a remarkable landscape of bush savannah, seasonal swamps, and majestic baobab trees. It’s renowned for hosting one of East Africa’s most significant elephant populations.

With an open-roof safari vehicle, you’ll witness these magnificent creatures and soak in the breathtaking scenery. Tarangire is also home to Masai giraffes, a variety of gazelles, antelopes, lions, leopards, baboons, and over 500 bird species. After an extensive game drive, your day concludes at Sangaiwe Tented Lodge, where you can unwind amid the serene surroundings.

Day 2 Tarangire Area – Lake Manyara National Park – Karatu

Day two leads you to Lake Manyara National Park, a compact yet exquisite park featuring the alkaline Lake Manyara, home to vibrant flamingo colonies and other water birds. The park’s grassy plains are inhabited by giraffes, hippos, wildebeests, and impalas, with lions often resting in the trees and elephants foraging among acacia woodlands.

In the forest near the lake, you’ll encounter lively troops of blue monkeys and baboon families. After a thorough exploration of the park, you’ll continue to the cooler Ngorongoro highlands, reaching Marera Valley Lodge for a peaceful night surrounded by lush gardens.

Day 3 Karatu – Serengeti National Park

Following breakfast, you’ll venture toward the iconic Serengeti, traveling through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Along the way, you may pause to admire the awe-inspiring vista of the Ngorongoro Crater.

Serengeti, meaning “endless plains” in the Maasai language, unveils vast grassy savannahs stretching to the horizon. This landscape is dotted with striking rock formations and teeming with predators. Blue wildebeests, Thomson’s gazelles, zebras, and buffaloes are prime targets for these carnivores.

With the vehicle’s high and open roof, you can relish the diverse habitats and landscapes of the Serengeti. As the day draws to a close, you’ll arrive at Kati Kati Tented Camp in the Seronera Valley for an evening of relaxation and fine dining.

Day 4 Serengeti National Park

The fourth day is dedicated entirely to Serengeti National Park’s game viewing opportunities. Your guide will lead you to the best locations to observe wildlife. The Serengeti is renowned for the Big Five – lions, elephants, buffaloes, rhinos, and leopards – and today, you may have the privilege of witnessing all these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat.

Lions, cheetahs, hyenas, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, topis, Grant’s and Thomson’s gazelles, and numerous other species roam this vast national park. Especially in the Seronera Valley, you’re guaranteed fantastic game viewing year-round.

The Serengeti, in conjunction with Kenya’s Masai Mara, is the stage for the world’s largest animal migration. The exact location of the herds may vary from year to year, depending on the annual rains. However, your experienced guide will lead you to the best vantage points to witness this extraordinary phenomenon. Another night awaits you at Kati Kati Tented Camp.

Day 5 Serengeti National Park – Ngorongoro Conservation Area

On day five, after a hearty breakfast, you’ll embark on another thrilling game drive in the Serengeti. This is your opportunity to spot animals that may have eluded you during the previous days.

The Serengeti is also home to the Big Five, and today might offer a chance to see all members of this elite group. After a delightful picnic lunch at a scenic spot, you’ll journey toward the Ngorongoro Crater. As you approach the crater’s edge, a magnificent view of the approximately 20 km wide caldera will greet you.

This caldera, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is home to over 25,000 animals. Your day concludes at Ang’ata Ngorongoro Camp, where you can savor a breathtaking sunset over the crater.

Day 6 Ngorongoro Crater – Arusha

Rise and shine on your final day in the wilderness! At daybreak, you’ll descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, the world’s largest intact caldera. Here, you’ll encounter a diverse range of wildlife, including black rhinos, gazelles, lions, leopards, elephants, and more. The crater’s forests on the slopes are home to buffalo, spotted hyena.
